Fall or "pumpkin time" as my son likes to say, has officially arrived here in Chicago. The leaves are changing colors, they are falling off the trees, the neighborhoods are decked out in fall decor, and halloween is right around the corner! If you are looking to fill your last weekend before Halloween with a fun family activity head over to Bengstons Pumpkin Farm. It is one of of our favorite farms to visit and a lot of other people think so too as it was voted number one in the state of Illinois last year!

Prices range from $11.99 - $22.99 per person. We went on a Monday and based on their pricing structure it was $11.99 per person but included all kids rides. Children under 3 are free. If you can go during the week it is an excellent value and a great way to entertain your kids for hours! Bengston's Pumpkin Farm is completely paved and stroller friendly except for the parking lot which is gravel.

Most rides are for 36" and up to ride alone but can ride with a parent on others.

We were there for about 3 hours and could have easily spent another 1-2 hours. If you plan to go on a weekend you could probably spend all day if you wanted. Since we went during the week, we did not have to wait in a single line, we rode all rides, and saw almost every thing there was to see in our 3 hours.

We had never been to a corn pit that took up the inside of barn until we visited Bengston's. It was massive and so much fun!

You certainly cannot go to a pumpkin farm and leave empty handed! On our way out we stopped at the farm area and picked up a few pumpkins for the house. FYI they are pre-picked pumpkins. There are also pumpkins of various shapes and sizes for sale throughout the entire amusement area not just on the pumpkin farm. All pumpkins are sold by the pound. My son had a great time weighing each of them!

If you are looking for a place beyond the seasonal hayride and pumpkin picking options this is a great place to visit. Start planning your trip to the farm today!
